HISTORY IN THE MAKING AS FIDA ABUJA UNVEILS ‘FIDA ABUJA AT 35’
It was indeed history in the making as the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Abuja Branch, officially unveiled its “FIDA Abuja at 35” anniversary celebration on 23rd September 2026 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium, Rear Ministry of Justice Complex, Abuja.
The colourful and memorable event brought together members of FIDA, supporters, affiliates, distinguished guests and well-wishers, all gathered to celebrate 35 years of justice, service, advocacy, impact and commitment to the legal profession and society.
The programme commenced with the opening remarks by the able Chairperson of FIDA Abuja, Chioma Onyeninchiya Uko, Esq. In her remarks, the Chairperson warmly appreciated everyone for honouring the invitation and being part of the historic occasion. She highlighted the achievements and progress recorded by FIDA Abuja over the years and expressed optimism for even greater accomplishments as the Branch continues its journey of impact and service.
A Journey Through 35 Years
One of the major highlights of the event was the “Story Time: The Journey of FIDA Abuja Through 35 Years,” presented by Dr. Princess Frank Chukwuani. The session took attendees through the history, growth and remarkable journey of FIDA Abuja over the past 35 years, highlighting the contributions, sacrifices and achievements that have shaped the Branch.
The session provided an opportunity to reflect on how far FIDA Abuja has come and the important role it has continued to play in advancing justice, promoting the rights of women and children, and contributing meaningfully to the legal profession and society.
Unveiling of the FIDA Abuja at 35 Logo
Another colourful moment was the official unveiling of the FIDA Abuja at 35 celebration logo. The unveiling marked the commencement of the anniversary activities and symbolised 35 years of service, growth, resilience and impact.
The atmosphere was further elevated with the premiere and unveiling of the 35th Anniversary Celebration Jingle, produced by the FIDA Abuja 35th Anniversary Committee. The beautiful jingle added a unique and memorable touch to the celebration and captured the spirit of the anniversary.
The official #FIDAAbuja35 hashtag was also unveiled as part of the activities designed to take the celebration beyond the walls of the auditorium and connect the FIDA Abuja at 35 story with a wider audience.

The programme also featured the unveiling of the FIDA Abuja at 35 celebration dates and scheduled activities, giving members, supporters and the public an insight into the exciting programmes lined up to commemorate this remarkable milestone.

The event also featured goodwill messages from distinguished personalities and friends of FIDA Abuja. Among the notable personalities in attendance was Justice Zainab, while Mr. Igbo Igbinedion from Akwa was ably represented by Anthony Ojukwu.
Their presence and goodwill added significance to the occasion and demonstrated the strong support and goodwill enjoyed by FIDA Abuja from members of the legal profession and its wider network of partners and affiliates.
