Latest: President Tinubu mourns elder cousin

President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to his elder cousin, Dr. Naheemdeen Ade Ekemode, who passed away at the age of 80.

In his tribute, the President shared fond memories of their childhood and highlighted Dr Ekemode’s lifelong contributions as a gynaecologist who practised for over 50 years.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday.

Ekemode, who was trained in Egypt, also served as the former chairman of the Lagos State Hospitals Management Board.

The President also extended his condolences to the entire family, adding:

“In this time of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with your loved ones.

“The cherished memories we hold dear and the love you gave to us will provide strength and comfort during these difficult times.

“You may no longer be with us in body, but your spirit and the bonds we shared will live on in our hearts forever.

“May Allah grant you eternal rest, and His mercy and peace be with you always.”
